The Assembly Chamber challenged us to find the correct balance between
aesthetics and functionality. The most
difficult portion of this room proved to be the elegant ring of light
fixtures suspended from the ceiling.
Dubbed “The String of Pearls”, this job required us to complete patterns
and cast a collection of aluminum fixtures that were installed from both
above and below the skylight.
Each fixture was mounted to its own cable so any
specific fixture can be lowered all the way to the floor when a light bulb
needs to be replaced.
