Our company was involved with the entire Wisconsin State Capitol Restoration
and Rehabilitation project from its beginning in 1988 to its completion in
2001. We were responsible for cataloging, tracking, replicating, restoring,
and repairing approximately 10,000 hardware items including door knobs,
escutcheon plates, hinges, and the like. (Not to mention the same for more
than 3,000 new and historic brass and brass-plated cast iron grilles.)
The reason that our company was an integral part of this restoration project
was that our president pioneered and refined the proprietary finishing
process. Although the details of this finish cannot be revealed, the
resulting finish (and its 10-year guarantee) speaks for itself!
We also fabricated and installed all of the interior and exterior ramp
railings at the Capitol. They were designed in the stately style
indicative of the period in which Capitol was created. The rails comply with ADA
while adding to the majesty of this remarkable building. |
